What is a certified Arborist?

Certified Arborists are people who have achieved a high level of knowledge in the art and science of tree care. A minimum of 3 years of full time tree work is required, as well as passing a comprehensive exam, and required ongoing education credits to maintain the certification.

It is extremely important to find out if your tree company has a certified arborist on staff. Many tree services out there do not have anyone certified, and they may perform work that is not correct, so use caution. You want to make sure that your trees are properly cut, pruned, or trimmed to ensure the health of the tree. Improper cuts can be a huge problem, and may cause your trees to die if not done correctly.

Mature trees in Minnesota can be a challenge to keep maintained. Branches and limbs may start growing over power lines, houses, garages, and walkways.  Our unpredictable weather can also wreak havoc on trees. Severe storms, high winds, or changing of seasons with heavy snow and ice will always be an issue here in Minnesota. Removing these branches and limbs can be very dangerous, and may require a tall ladder, cable, brace, or our 55 foot tall bucket truck. You do not want to risk doing this yourself, or using a non-ISA certified company to perform these jobs. Taking out a power line, or crashing a huge limb through your roof can be very real possibilities. We are trained to do this type of dangerous work, and we are experts in maintaining the safety of the tree, the client’s property, and ourselves.

You may have insect or disease concerns about your tree, and our certified arborists are trained to spot these issues. Over the past few years Emerald Ash Borer has become a major problem in Minnesota. It is a tree disease on ash trees that is actually caused by insects. Identifying and treating this early, may just save the life of your beautiful Ash Tree. This disease is similar to Dutch Elm Disease, and Chestnut Blight. If you have any concerns about your trees relating to disease, or insects, please contact us right away, and we will check it out for you.
